Where it Started

The Origins of Etunda

In 1974, David and Julia left South West Africa then, and exiled into Angola with the purpose of liberating their motherland, that is currently known as Namibia. Both David and Julia left the country at a very tender age, single and resided with their parents respectively.
Upon their return from exile in 1989 David had a family of six members making it practically impossible to be accommodated by parents or by any good Samaritan. In 1990, David approached Uukolonkadhi Traditional Authority (UTA) by applying for a piece of land for settlement.
A delegation of UTA led by the headman, Tatekulu Daniel Shooya together with David surveyed the area of choice, a land that is situated at Etunda in the Ruacana Constituency, Omusaati Region. The land size has 19 hectares.
